Who Me?
Sometimes you can type away on a typesetting machine (google it) and realize you want more.
Even as a student of Journalism, I was more into how a written piece or graphic looked on a page. It didn't matter if that page was a print newsletter or a web page. That's the car I want to drive stick.
I studied design at Berkeley Extension, which helped streamline my thought process. In the mid-'90s, as the Graphic Designer for the American Red Cross Bay Area, I wrote and edited a 5-county donor print newsletter along with postcards, pins, invitations, course schedules, disaster preparedness manuals, brochures, t-shirts, annual reposts; to name a few things.
Today, I continue working from job to job. I do this only in a freelance capacity. I enjoy the freedom it gives me.
